Circuit Clerks’ offices will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday to accept voter registration applications. Mail-in voter registration applications must be postmarked by Saturday to be eligible to vote in the election. State law requires voters to register 30 days before casting a ballot in a particular election. Officials are encouraging all those eligible to use their right to vote.
Gayle Parker, Harrison County Circuit Clerk, says, “Because it’s very important that they vote. Voting is one of the most, that and serving on jury duty, is one of the most important things they can do as their civic duty. Because you know, people die for our country for the right to vote.”
