Perkinston Agricultural High School Reunion Set for October 4th

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (M.G.C.C.C.) is holding a reunion for Perkinston Agricultural High School classes of 1940-1962 on Saturday, October 4th. The event includes a luncheon and afternoon social beginning at 11 a.m. in Heidelberg Hall Cafeteria on M.G.C.C.C.’s Perkinston Campus.

Harrison County Agricultural High School was opened in 1912 where M.G.C.C.C.’s Perkinston Campus is today. The school underwent many name changes before becoming Perkinston Agricultural High School and Junior College in 1942. The high school remained in existence until 1962, when the institution became only a junior college due to restrictions by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the accrediting agency for both the high school and college. In the last year of its existence, one summer shy of its 50th year, the A.H.S. had 281 students, the most ever. More than 1,600 students graduated from the A.H.S. during the years it was in operation.

Tickets for the reunion event are $15 per person. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact the M.G.C.C.C. Alumni Association at 601.528.8900.
