Once the stadium is complete next year, 80% of the season will already be over. Due to league requirements of playing at a venue with a minimum of 5,000 seats, Biloxi baseball will not be able to play elsewhere in Biloxi and will likely have to play their scheduled home games on the road. The city will see a $10,000 fine per home game not played at their home stadium.
Vincent Creel, Public Affairs Manager for Biloxi, says, “The City Council received a report from the construction folks and what they told them was it is right on time. That is the good news. The bad news is it’s right on track for August of 2015, which puts them about three quarters of the way through the Southern League schedule.”
