Paris, France (SportsNetwork.com) - Top seed and reigning champion Serena Williams could meet Australian Open titlist Li Na in the French Open final, as the draw for Roland Garros 2014 was revealed on Friday.

The world No. 1 Williams will open her latest stay in Paris against 23-year- old 138th-ranked Frenchwoman Alize Lim.

Williams and the little-known Lim are actually good friends, as the two befriended each other at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy. Patrick Mouratoglou is Williams' coach.

The reigning French and U.S. Open champion Williams could meet her 29th-seeded former world No. 1 older sister, Venus, in the third round, which would mark a rematch of the 2002 French Open final that was won by the 17-time Grand Slam champion Serena.

The powerful Serena could encounter seventh-seeded former world No. 1 Maria Sharapova in the quarterfinals. It would be a rematch of last year's French Open final that was captured by the American.

A potential semifinal opponent for Serena could be third-seeded Pole Agnieszka Radwanska, who lost to the American in the 2012 Wimbledon finale. Radwanska will begin her Paris stay against China's Zhang Shuai.

Radwanska could be opposed by scrappy 14th-seeded Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro in the fourth round or eighth-seeded German Angelique Kerber in the quarters.

The 2012 French Open champion Sharapova will open against a qualifier next week and could take on Australian Open runner-up Dominika Cibulkova in the fourth round.

The bottom half of the draw is spearheaded by the second-seeded former French Open champ Li. Her fortnight will begin against France's Kristina Mladenovic and the Chinese star could face sixth-seeded Jelena Jankovic or 10th-seeded 2012 French runner-up Sara Errani in the quarters, while potential semifinal opponents for Li could be fourth-seeded Simona Halep, fifth-seeded former Wimbledon champ Petra Kvitova or resurgent 11th-seeded former Roland Garros titlist Ana Ivanovic.

The rising Halep could lock horns with Kvitova or Ivanovic in the quarters.

There are six former French Open champions in the year's field -- Serena, Sharapova, Li, Ivanovic, Francesca Schiavone and Svetlana Kuznetsova. Schiavone won the title in 2010 and was the runner-up to Li in 2011. Ivanovic was the winner in 2008 and runner-up in 2007. Kuznetsova was the 2009 champ and 2006 runner-up.

The 2014 French Open will commence Sunday in Paris.
