Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Sydney Leroux netted a first-half brace on Sunday as the U.S. women's national team earned a 4-1 victory over Brazil in an international friendly at the Citrus Bowl.

The Americans had the better of the play early on and opened the scoring 15 minutes in when Leroux got on the end of a cross in the box and volleyed it home with pace.

Two minutes later Abby Wambach got free behind the Brazil defense and was taken down from behind, resulting in a penalty kick, which she easily dispatched to make it 2-0 U.S. lead.

Brazil got back into the match in the 25th minute when Rosana got her head to a cross and nodded it past U.S. goalkeeper Hope Solo to cut the deficit to 2-1.

But the U.S. maintained firm control of the match and made it a two-goal margin again in the 37th minute when Leroux collected a ball on the left wing, cut inside, rounded the Brazilian goalkeeper and fired it into the empty net to complete her double.

The Americans put the game away 11 minutes from time when substitute Erika Tymrak netted her first goal for the national team as she kept the ball on the turn, took a quick touch to the right and ripped a low shot into the left corner.

The result sees with U.S. women complete their 2013 schedule with 13 wins, three draws and no losses.
