Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Houston Dynamo traded midfielder Warren Creavalle to Toronto FC on Wednesday in exchange for the top spot in MLS's allocation order and an undisclosed amount of allocation money.

Creavalle, a second-round draft pick in 2012, played virtually every defensive and midfield position for Houston in his two-and-a-half years with the club.

He made 17 starts and 27 total appearances in league play last season, scoring three goals and adding one assist. He also started all five of Houston's playoff games in their run to the Eastern Conference final and was a regular in Houston's CONCACAF Champions League campaigns in the falls of 2012 and 2013.

Creavalle appeared in 16 games, 10 starts, this season for the Dynamo.

The top spot in the allocation order and money received from TFC will allow the Dynamo the first opportunity to sign players that wish to return to MLS from another league -- and rumors suggest that player could be United States defender DaMarcus Beasley.

Beasley has been linked with a return to MLS in recent weeks and, as a returning US international for whom the league received a transfer fee when he was sold to PSV Eindhoven in 2000, would be subject to the allocation order.

Toronto held the top spot and will now assume Houston's No. 14 ranking.
