Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Nashville Predators got a little help in net Wednesday, acquiring goaltender Devan Dubnyk from the Edmonton Oilers for forward Matt Hendricks.

Dubnyk, 27, had been struggling in his fifth season for Edmonton but Nashville adds a former first-round pick to its stable of goaltenders while Pekka Rinne continues to recover from a hip infection.

The Predators said last Friday that Rinne, who hasn't played since Oct. 22, has been cleared to begin weight-bearing exercises. Nashville has been using rookies Marek Mazanec and Carter Hutton in net.

Dubnyk had an .894 save percentage and 3.36 goals-against average in 32 games for the Oilers this season, including 29 starts. He began losing starts when Edmonton signed Ilya Bryzgalov in November.

Later Wednesday, the Oilers acquired goaltender Ben Scrivens from the Los Angeles Kings for a third-round pick in this year's draft.

Hendricks had two goals and four points in 44 games for the Predators this season. He has also played for Colorado and Washington in his five-plus NHL seasons.
