Recap: Chicago vs. Boston

Chicago, IL ( - Patrice Bergeron posted a goal and two assists to lead the Boston Bruins in a 6-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.

Reilly Smith and Dougie Hamilton each had a goal and an assist, while Gregory Campbell, Milan Lucic and Loui Eriksson all lit the lamp for the Bruins, who snapped a six-game losing streak. Tuukka Rask turned aside 26 shots in the win.

"Mentally we had to be strong and stick with our game plan and not get rattled," said Boston head coach Claude Julien. "With the situation we've been in we could have gotten flustered and stressed, but they guys did a great job of staying with it."

Jonathan Toews and Bryan Bickell each had a goal for the Blackhawks, who have lost their last three. Corey Crawford allowed four goals on just 14 shots while Antti Raanta turned aside 14-of-16 shots in relief.

"There's not much to say after a game like this," said Chicago head coach Joel Quenneville. "First period we played ok, but it went downhill quickly in the second. You can never be happy about anything that happens in a game like this."

Boston scored just three minutes in on Bergeron's 200th career goal as he snapped a one-timer into the net from the slot for his 17th of the season.

Skating on the power play, Boston took a 2-0 lead with 5:57 to play in the first as Eriksson redirected a Torey Krug shot for his 14th of the season.

Chicago got one back on the power play with just 1.4 seconds left after Toews knocked in a rebound off a Patrick Kane shot, but the Bruins dominated the second period.

The Bruins regained a two-goal lead at 6:18 as Lucic knocked in his second attempt from down low, and Campbell made it a three-goal game six minutes later as he snapped in a wrister from the slot to chase Crawford.

Raanta didn't fare much better, as Hamilton's quick shot from the high slot off a faceoff on the power play with 2:33 left in the second gave Boston a four-goal lead.

Smith scored with just a few seconds to play in the second as the Bruins took a 6-1 lead into the third.

Bickell scored on a wrister from the right circle with 5:42 to play to account for the final score.
