Recap: Minnesota vs. Florida

St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Devan Dubnyk made 26 saves and the Minnesota Wild held off the Florida Panthers 2-1 on Thursday.

Jason Pominville and Zach Parise lit the lamp for Minnesota, winners in seven of its last eight games. Mikko Koivu assisted on both goals.

"There wasn't a lot of offense either way," said Parise. "Not the most entertaining, but that's how they're going to be sometimes."

Nick Bjugstad scored Florida's lone marker and Roberto Luongo surrendered both goals on 23 shots in the setback.

"You don't get a whole lot against Minnesota," said Panthers coach Gerard Gallant. "They're a tough team, and they played a real good defensive game."

Trailing 2-0 midway through the second, Bjugstad snuck a wrister past Dubnyk to cut the deficit in half. Florida mustered just five shots in the final period and couldn't force overtime despite spending the final 1:19 of regulation on a power play.

Early in the contest, Koivu skated slowly down the left side and fired a pass to the middle, where Pominville was there to knock in the game's first goal.

Parise netted the eventual game-winner on a power-play at 6:52 of the second. Again Koivu got things going, playing with the puck behind the net before finding Thomas Vanek near the right circle. Vanek's shot was blocked, but Parise was there to tap home the rebound for his 22nd of the season.

Game Notes

Florida went 0-for-5 on the power play ... Bjugstad had a game-high five shots.
