Recap: Nashville vs. Winnipeg

Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Pekka Rinne made 32 saves to back a solid offensive effort as the Nashville Predators continued their winning ways with a 3-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.

Shea Weber finished with a power-play goal and two assists, Filip Forsberg also scored on the power play and supplied a helper and James Neal sealed the win with a late goal for the Predators, who won their fourth straight game.

Michael Frolik supplied Winnipeg's lone marker and Ondrej Pavelec allowed three goals on 26 shots in defeat.

"I liked a lot of things we did except the result," Jets head coach Paul Maurice said.

Defenseman Tyler Myers and forward Drew Stafford made their Winnipeg debuts after coming over in a blockbuster trade that shipped forward Evander Kane to Buffalo.

Weber opened the scoring late in a power play as he received Roman Josi's pass across the blue line and blasted a shot past Pavelec 4:47 into the game.

The Jets, however, tied the game on a power-play goal of their own with 8:18 left in the opening stanza. Dustin Byfuglien kept the puck in the offensive zone and fired a shot on net that hit off Frolik and went into the net.

Forsberg put the Predators up 2-1 with another power-play tally as he skated up to the right circle and wristed a shot top shelf 3:38 into the second.

In the third, Neal cashed in on a Byfuglien hooking minor by beating Pavelec on a wraparound with 3:50 to play.

Rinne came up big in the final stanza as he made 13 saves to preserve the win.
