Recap: Chicago vs. Vancouver

Chicago, IL ( - The Vancouver Canucks wasted a late two-goal lead but recovered to beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-4 on Daniel Sedin's overtime tally.

Daniel Sedin scored his second goal of the game off a pass from twin brother Henrik 1:20 into overtime after Eddie Lack gave up two goals in the final 2:11 of regulation.

Linden Vey, Bo Horvat and Zack Kassian had second-period goals for the Canucks, who have won three of their last five games. Lack finished with 37 saves.

"We battled hard for (the win) and we got it," Lack said.

Marian Hossa registered his third consecutive two-goal game and Patrick Kane finished with a goal and two assists for Chicago, which has opened a stretch of eight straight home games with back-to-back losses beyond regulation.

The Blackhawks lost in a shootout to Arizona on Monday.

"It's nice to get the one point," Hossa said. "But I guess we didn't deserve it the way we played the whole (game)."

Corey Crawford, who stopped 31 shots, was on the bench for each of Chicago's last two goals.

Daniel Sedin lit the lamp on a delayed penalty to put Vancouver up 4-2 with 4:37 remaining in the third period, but a roughing call against Radim Vrbata gave Chicago a power play and it converted.

Crawford was pulled for 6-on-4 advantage and Brandon Saad deflected Duncan Keith's one-timed blast from the point with 2:11 left. The red-hot Hossa beat Lack five-hole on a wrister from the bottom of the left circle with 54.5 seconds remaining to complete the comeback.

Daniel Sedin took care of business in overtime, gathering Henrik Sedin's pass from the right boards as he was positioned in the slot and beating Crawford to the stick side.

Lack made a glove save to rob Kane on a breakaway in the waning seconds of the first period, but Kane gave Chicago a 1-0 lead 57 seconds into the second period when his backhand pass deflected in off stick of Vancouver defenseman Dan Hamhuis.

The Blackhawks turned the puck over in their own zone and the Canucks tied it with a tic-tac-toe passing sequence finished off by Vey at the 4:42 mark.

Horvat slammed home a rebound 2:02 later, and Kassian scored on a deflection with 8:41 left to make it 3-1.

Hossa pounced on a rebound during a Chicago power play to cut the deficit to 3-2 with 7:12 remaining in the third.
