Recap: Minnesota vs. Winnipeg

St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Marco Scandella scored 1:01 into overtime to lift the Minnesota Wild over the Winnipeg Jets, 4-3, on Sunday.

After the Wild blew a three-goal lead in the third period, Scandella fired a shot from the point that beat traffic in front and got past Michael Hutchinson. Scandella had missed the previous two games with an illness.

Minnesota forward Zach Parise had two goals in his return to the lineup after missing the past five games with a concussion. Nino Niederreiter also lit the lamp.

Niklas Backstrom was pulled after giving up three goals in the third for the Wild, who have won three in a row. Darcy Kuemper made three saves in relief.

"We were frustrated with the way we let them back in the game. Unfortunately, we gave them a point we shouldn't have," Parise said.

Michael Frolik, Evander Kane and Andrew Ladd scored for the Jets, who have lost two straight. Ondrej Pavelec was pulled after giving up three goals on 11 shots in the first stanza.

"It was a fantastic game for us. Just a great battle back," Jets coach Paul Maurice said.

Trailing 3-0, the Jets drew even in less than five minutes. First, Matt Halischuk's shot from the point hit off the skate of a Wild player and went right to Frolik, who beat Backstrom at 5:55 of the third.

Kane scored at 8:19 when his backhander from behind the goal line deflected off Backstrom's skate and went in. Ladd ended the burst when he tipped in Adam Pardy's shot at 10:47 to make it 3-3.

Earlier, the Wild scored three goals in the first. Niederreiter made a nice move on Pavelec before scoring on a backhander at 2:07.

Parise scored on a slap shot and backhander at 4:11 and 18:45, respectively, to give Minnesota a usually safe three-goal margin.
