Recap: Edmonton vs. Florida

Edmonton, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - Tomas Kopecky and Sean Bergenheim scored in the third period, sending the Florida Panthers to a 4-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday night.

Roberto Luongo made 31 saves for the Panthers, who have won a season-high three straight games and improved to 4-1-0 on their six-game road trip.

"We're a close-knit team. We enjoy spending time with each other, we enjoy sacrificing for each other," Florida defenseman Brian Campbell said about the team's success on the road.

Ben Scrivens stopped 23-of-27 shots for Edmonton, which was looking to win back-to-back games for the first time since Nov. 7-9. The Oilers beat the visiting Chicago Blackhawks 5-2 on Friday.

Kopecky one-timed Derek MacKenzie's pass from behind the net past Scrivens, extending Florida's lead to 3-1 at 5:08 of the third.

Just 32 seconds later, Benoit Pouliot buried a rebound from the slot on a delayed penalty against the Panthers.

Bergenheim scored from close range with 4:32 remaining after Oilers defenseman Andrew Ference lost control of the puck.

"I felt like we were gonna come back, and then a couple turnovers and it ends up in the back of our net," said Edmonton forward Jordan Eberle.

Jimmy Hayes gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead when he collected a loose puck after a rush, spun around and beat Scrivens on the blocker side at 4:01 of the first period.

Eberle answered Hayes' goal at 4:07 of the second period. A scramble ensued around the crease when Luongo failed to cleanly glove an innocuous point shot by Justin Schultz and Eberle poked the puck past the fallen goaltender.

Campbell scored Florida's second goal on a long wrist shot at 6:56 of the second.
