Recap: Columbus vs. Toronto

Columbus, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Phil Kessel and Daniel Winnik both had a one and two assists, leading the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 4-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.

David Clarkson and Nazem Kadri also scored, and Jonathan Bernier made 28 saves for the Maple Leafs, who have won two in a row and three of their last four games.

"We're feeling good, but the season is full of peaks and valleys," said Winnik, who played in his 500th career game.

Curtis McElhinney allowed four goals on 27 shots in Columbus' fourth consecutive loss.

"We didn't generate nearly enough 5-on-5," said Blue Jackets head coach Todd Richards.

Kadri buried a feed from Kessel on a 2-on-1 to put Toronto up 3-0 at 2:38 of the third period.

The Blue Jackets converted on a power play to get on the board. Bernier stopped Ryan Johansen's shot from the right circle, but couldn't locate the puck. Cam Atkinson spotted the puck between the goaltender's pads and whacked it in at 10:40.

With the assist, Johansen extended his point streak to 10 games, tying a franchise record. R.J. Umberger picked up a point in 10 straight games from Nov. 10-Dec. 1 2010.

Winnik sealed the win off a turnover, beating McElhinney on the glove side with 3:33 remaining.

Kessel believed he scored on a rebound late in the first period, but action continued. At the next stoppage, the play was reviewed and the official's no- goal call was overturned. The puck clearly crossed the goal line before deflecting off Columbus defenseman Fedor Tyutin's right skate with 4:32 left.

Clarkson redirected a Dion Phaneuf point shot past McElhinney for a power-play goal at 12:13 of the second period.
