Recap: Nashville vs. Buffalo

Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Nashville Predators avoided the longest home losing streak in franchise history with a 6-1 rout of the NHL- worst Buffalo Sabres.

The Predators had gone 0-5-1 at Bridgestone Arena to match the team-record slide, but rode a four-goal first period to a third win in their last four games overall.

Shea Weber scored twice using his patented cannon shot, while rookies Calle Jarnkrok and Colton Sissons each potted their first NHL goal. Carter Hutton picked up the win with 32 saves.

"We've always been a team in the past that takes pride in winning at home and we haven't done that lately. We need to change that," Weber said.

Buffalo went 1-4-0 on its road trip and has lost 10 of 11 overall.

Sissons beat Sabres goalie Matt Hackett on a rebound to open the scoring at 6:26. Colin Wilson and Jarnkrok scored nine seconds apart before Weber added a goal during a 5-on-3 power play with 43 seconds remaining in the frame.

"Guys came out, and they didn't come out to play that first period," Buffalo head coach Ted Nolan said.

Nathan Lieuwen replaced Hackett, who faced 15 shots, at the start of the second period.

Rasmus Ristolainen scored on a blast from the top of the right circle to put the Sabres on the board at 2:06 of the second.

Weber added his second tally a little over four minutes later.

Eric Nystrom supplied Nashville's sixth goal with 40 seconds left in the third period.

Game Notes

Jarnkrok joined Marek Zidlicky as the only Nashville players to record a point in each of their first four NHL games ... The Sabres had won their last three trips to Nashville since losing on Nov. 29, 2003.
