Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tampa Bay Lightning announced on Wednesday that goaltender Ben Bishop will miss the remaining three games of the regular season after suffering an apparent wrist injury Tuesday night.

His status for the playoffs is yet to be determined.

"It's not impossible that he could play in the first round at some point," Lightning coach Jon Cooper said, according to the team's website. "We're better off re-evaluating this early next week and seeing where he's at."

Bishop exited Tuesday's game against Toronto less than six minutes in after he landed on his left wrist diving for a deflection. He stayed down writhing in pain and needed help getting off the ice.

The 27-year-old has a 37-14-7 record in 63 games this season with a 2.23 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage. He is fourth in the league with 37 wins and tied for third with five shutouts this season.

The Lightning, who have clinched a playoff spot and are third in the Atlantic division, recalled goaltender Kristers Gudlevskis from their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, to back up Anders Lindback in Bishop's absence.
