St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Minnesota Wild announced Wednesday that goaltender Josh Harding was placed on injured reserve.

"Over the next week, Josh will make a minor adjustment to his treatment protocol," Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher said. "Josh feels great and he looks forward to rejoining our team for our game in Winnipeg on Dec. 27."

Harding was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in November of last year, but the 29-year-old has been able to resume his career with minimal disruptions.

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, unpredictable disease of the central nervous system. It is thought to be an autoimmune disorder, which means the immune system incorrectly attacks the person's healthy tissue.

Harding has persevered, posting an 18-5-3 record with a league-low 1.51 goals- against average, while ranking second in the NHL in save percentage (.939) and shutouts (3).
