Wild place Granlund on IR

St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Minnesota Wild center Mikael Granlund will miss at least the team's next three games due to a head injury he sustained in Tuesday's 3-1 loss against Phoenix.

The Wild placed Granlund, who has served as the club's second-line center for most of this season, on injured reserve Thursday. The 2010 first-round pick had previously sat out a pair of games last week after taking a hard shot in an Nov. 20 contest at Ottawa, then returned to action on Tuesday but was injured again on his initial shift.

Granlund has recorded two goals, 10 assists and a plus-four rating through 24 games this season.

Forward Jason Zucker was recalled from Iowa of the AHL Thursday to fill the roster spot.

Zucker had four goals and an assist over 20 contests with the Wild last season, but has spent the majority of the 2013-14 campaign in the minors. The 21-year-old has posted six goals and four assists in 13 games with Iowa.
