Sunrise, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Florida Panthers goaltender Tim Thomas suffered a groin strain and his status is day-to-day.

Thomas left Tuesday's 2-1 loss against the Philadelphia Flyers with a lower-body injury, which was downgraded upon further evaluation.

"Just slightly pulled his groin, so I don't think it's anything long term but we will evaluate him tomorrow and see where he's at," said Panthers head coach Kevin Dineen following the contest.

When asked if it made sense to recall goaltender Scott Clemmensen from San Antonio for upcoming back-to-back games against the Lightning in Tampa on Thursday and home against the Penguins on Friday, Dineen answered in the affirmative.

The 39-year-old Thomas was pulled after just 7:31 of game action, having surrendered two goals on five shots.

On the second score, a floater from the right point by Philly defenseman Braydon Coburn, Thomas dove awkwardly on his stomach in the crease. He then exited the contest and went to the locker room.

Jacob Markstrom entered the game in relief and stopped all 13 shots he faced.
