Recap: Seattle vs. Dallas

Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - DeMarco Murray made history on Sunday, and the Dallas Cowboys did the impossible by going into CenturyLink Field and handing the Seattle Seahawks a 30-23 defeat for just the second time at home during the Russell Wilson era.

Murray joined Jim Brown as the only running backs in NFL history to surpass 100 rushing yards in six straight games to start the season. His go-ahead touchdown run with 3:16 to play gave the Cowboys the lead, Seattle turned the ball over on downs and Dan Bailey kicked a 31-yard field goal to make it a seven-point game.

The Seahawks got the ball back with just over a minute left, but Wilson was picked off by Rolando McClain to confirm the outcome.

"They're doing the things that are needed," Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo said of the Dallas defense. "I'm trusting them throughout football games to get us the ball back in key situations. They're really playing outstanding ball and starting to make a name for themselves."

Murray carried 29 times for 115 yards, leading Dallas (5-1) to its fifth straight win following a Week 1 setback against San Francisco. The Cowboys last won five in a row in 2007.

Romo threw for 250 yards and found each of his tight ends, Jason Witten and Gavin Escobar, for a touchdown apiece.

"We talked about the mental toughness to overcome circumstance and I thought we did that," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said. "That was probably the best thing we did."

Wilson, who entered Sunday with a 19-1 mark at home since taking over the starting quarterback job as a rookie, completed just 14-of-28 passes for a quiet 126 yards. He also ran for a score.

Seattle (3-2) didn't lose its second game until Week 14 last season.

"We were not right in any phase of our game today," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said.

Steven Hauschka's third field goal of the game -- a season-long 48-yarder -- gave the Seahawks a 23-20 lead with 8:16 to play.

On the ensuing Dallas possession, Dez Bryant rose up over Richard Sherman and made a 16-yard catch to extend the drive. Then on 3rd-and-20, Romo danced around the pocket and fired a pass to Terrence Williams, who dragged both toes inbounds while making a diving grab for 23 yards. Seattle challenged the ruling, but the catch was upheld.

Murray finished the drive, running three times for 46 yards, including his 15-yard go-ahead touchdown.

Earlier, Jerome Kearse's 53-yard reception set up a 33-yard Hauschka field goal on Seattle's opening drive.

Romo took a huge hit from linebacker Bobby Wagner on the first Cowboys series. His third down pass fell incomplete and Chris Jones lined up to punt, but Doug Baldwin flew in unblocked and blocked the punt. Mike Morgan scooped it up and ran for a Seattle touchdown.

Unfazed, Romo led Dallas into scoring position thanks to Joseph Randle's 38- yard run and put the Cowboys on the board with a 2-yard touchdown pass to Escobar.

Bailey hit a 42-yard kick with five minutes left in the half, and Romo found Witten for a 3-yard score just before the break. The Cowboys scored 17 unanswered points to take a 17-10 lead into the break.

Dwayne Harris fumbled a punt early in the third quarter, and Seattle took over at the Dallas 14. Two plays later, Wilson kept it on a read option and ran towards the left pylon for the game-tying touchdown.

Miscommunication on the next Cowboys possession led Travis Frederick to snap the ball before Romo was expecting it. Jordan Hill recovered the loose ball on the bottom of a scrum, and Hauschka kicked another field goal to make it 20-17.

On the first play of the ensuing drive, Romo went up top for Williams, who hauled in a 47 reception along the right sideline to set up Bailey's career- long 56-yard field goal.
