Santa Clara, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Francisco 49ers promoted executive Paraag Marathe to team president on Tuesday, replacing Gideon Yu, who will step down from that role.
Marathe was the 49ers' chief operating officer and has been with the team for 13 years, working in both the football and business side of the organization.
Also, the team promoted Al Guido to take Marathe's former job. He had been serving as senior vice president of global sales for Legends.
"As we move closer to the opening of Levi's Stadium, our organization will continue to evolve and grow," said 49ers CEO Jed York. "Gideon, Paraag and Al have been instrumental in making the new stadium a reality, and I couldn't be more excited about the future of our management team and the 49ers organization. Paraag and Al have developed a tremendous working relationship and I am deeply confident in their leadership."
Yu will continue on with the 49ers as co-owner of the club.
