Florham Park, NJ ( - The New York Jets and tight end Jeff Cumberland reached an agreement on a new contract Saturday, three days before the four-year pro was set to become an unrestricted free agent.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team, though the New York Daily News reported the pact to be worth $3.7 million plus incentives over three years.

After being used sparingly over his first two seasons, Cumberland has recorded 55 receptions totaling 757 yards with seven touchdowns over the past two years. The former undrafted free agent caught 26 passes for 398 yards with four touchdowns while starting 12-of-15 games in 2013.

Cumberland's 13 plays of 20 or more yards over the last two years trail only wide receiver Jeremy Kerley for tops on the team during that span.
