Jacksonville, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed defensive end Red Bryant, who was released by the Seattle Seahawks last week.

Bryant spent his first six seasons with Seattle and played for current Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley when he was the defensive coordinator with the Seahawks from 2009-12.

"We're excited about the addition of Red to the defensive line," said Jaguars general manager David Caldwell in a statement. "Red has been a productive player in the NFL. When he became available as a free agent I went to Gus to see if this was a player that would fit into our culture. Gus was completely on board and spoke highly of what Red could add to our team on and off the field. We feel like we added another veteran presence along the line."

Bryant had 30 tackles with 1 1/2 sacks in 15 games for the Super Bowl champion Seahawks last season. He started all but one game over the past three years.

The 29-year-old Texas A&M product has 120 tackles and 3 1/2 sacks with two interceptions in 64 NFL games since Seattle selected him in the fourth round of the 2008 draft.
