De Pere, WI (Sports Network) - The Green Bay Packers signed wide receiver Jordy Nelson to a contract extension on Saturday.

According to multiple reports, Nelson and the team agreed on a four-year extension worth $39 million.

"Jordy's hard work and dedication has made him a good player, teammate and a core member of this team," Packers general manager Ted Thompson said in a statement. "We are pleased to come to an agreement that will extend his Packers career."

Nelson, 29, is coming off a season in which he caught 85 passes for 1,314 yards -- both career highs -- and eight touchdowns.

Selected by Green Bay in the second round of the 2008 draft, the Kansas State product has 302 receptions for 4,590 yards and 36 touchdowns in his career.
