Heat sign Hamilton, release Liggins

Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Heat signed center Justin Hamilton on Friday and released guard DeAndre Liggins.

Terms of Hamilton's deal were not disclosed.

Hamilton appeared in one game this season after he signed a 10-day contract on March 4 with the Charlotte Bobcats. In his NBA debut he collected one steal in 3:44 of play during a 111-89 loss on March 8 to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The 7-foot Hamilton was averaging 19.3 points, 9.2 rebounds and two blocks in 37 games this season for the Heat NBA Development League affiliate Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Liggins had signed two 10-day contracts with the Heat.
