Recap: LA Clippers vs. Washington
Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Paul posted 30 points, 15 assists and six rebounds to guide the Los Angeles Clipper to a 113-99 rout of the Washington Wizards on Friday.
J.J. Redick scored 26 points, Blake Griffin had 22, six boards and five assists and DeAndre Jordan pulled down 23 rebounds in the Clippers' third straight win.
"We were knocking down shots," said Jordan. "We're not surprised what J.J. is doing, he's been great for us and he opens up shots for other guys. The more wins we can get the better."
John Wall had 19 points and 10 assists to lead six Wizards in double figures. Bradley Beal netted 18, though 16 of those came in the first half, Nene added 14 and Marcin Gortat scored 12 in the setback.
The Clippers dominated the first quarter and never looked back.
Redick made consecutive 3s early in the period, Griffin scored five during a 9-2 run and Austin Rivers ended the frame with a driving layup just before the horn. Washington shot just 6-for-24 from the field in the first and LA led 35-21.
"We let them get too comfortable right away," said Wizards coach Randy Wittman. "It was an uphill battle the rest of the game. Give them credit."
The Wizards got back within six midway through the second on Kevin Seraphin's hook shot and seven on two occasions early in the third, but it never got closer than that.
LA's backcourt of Paul and Redick combined for 17 points on 7-for-9 shooting in the fourth.
"This is a good stretch for me right now," said Redick. "I'm able to take advantage of being healthy. I spend a lot of time in the gym and my shooting percentage is showing that."Game Notes
