Recap: Orlando vs. Portland

Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Rookie Elfrid Payton became the first player in Orlando Magic history with consecutive triple-doubles in a 111-104 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night.

Payton had 22 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists and the Magic used a late- game surge to snap a six-game losing streak.

The first-round draft pick had 15 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists in a loss to Dallas on Wednesday.

"Obviously I need help in order to get that, so that means my teammates are playing well too," said Payton. "And that's important to me."

Victor Oladipo and Nikola Vucevic also scored 22 points for Orlando.

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 18 of his 31 points in the third quarter for the Blazers, who have dropped three in a row to fall to 1-3 on a five-game road trip. Aldridge added 10 rebounds, Damian Lillard scored 18 points, but just two after halftime, and C.J. McCollum had 15 points for the Blazers.

The Northwest Division leaders could have gained ground on third-place Houston in the Western Conference with a win but still trail the idle Rockets by one game.

Aldridge was 6-of-11 from the field and pulled down seven rebounds in the third quarter. He hit consecutive 3-pointers early on to give the Blazers their first lead of the game after they trailed by 13 in the first half.

They carried an 81-75 advantage into the fourth but Orlando finished the game strong.

Aaron Gordon gave the Magic the lead for good on a jumper with 6:39 remaining and Oladipo's 3 stretched it to four points, capping a 7-0 run. The advantage grew as high as 12 down the stretch.

Earlier, Orlando led by nine points in the first quarter and had a 13-point lead in the second after Luke Ridnour's 3 about three minutes in.

"They got off to a good start and we were a little sluggish," said Blazers coach Terry Stotts.

Lillard scored 14 of his 16 first-half points in the second quarter to help the Blazers get within 58-56 at intermission.
