Recap: San Antonio vs. Utah
San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Five Spurs reached double figures in a balanced effort, and San Antonio held Utah to 33.3 percent shooting in its 89-69 win over the Jazz.
Tiago Splitter had 14 points, Danny Green scored 13, and Kawhi Leonard and Aron Baynes posted 12 apiece in the dominant victory.
The Spurs won their second straight game in convincing fashion since Leonard returned to the lineup after missing the last 15 games with a torn ligament in his hand. The reigning NBA champs are 17-7 with him in the lineup this season.
"He always impacts the game. Whether it's the person he is guarding or giving help and making a steal, rebounding the basketball, scoring. He always has an impact on the game," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said.
Rudy Gobert had 13 points and 18 rebounds off the bench for the Jazz, who have lost four of their last five games.
"We ran into a team that was really physical with us," Jazz coach Quin Snyder said. "I don't think we were prepared."
Utah's offense never got on track after shooting just 6-for-25 in the first quarter. It followed that up by scoring 12 points in the second and trailed 43-27 at halftime.
The Jazz had more rebounds (29) than points at the break.
The margin hovered between 12 and 19 in the third quarter before the Spurs put the game away early in the fourth. Green hit a pair of 3s during a 10-4 run to open the final quarter. He then followed Gobert's three-point play with another trey, and Boris Diaw hit from deep on the next Spurs possession.Game Notes
