Recap: Atlanta vs. Charlotte

Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Douglas-Roberts' floater at the buzzer lifted the Charlotte Bobcats to a 95-93 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.

Douglas-Roberts took an inbound feed from Josh McRoberts at the top of the key, drove inside the paint and floated the shot in as the buzzer sounded.

"Well that was the last option," Bobcats head coach Steve Clifford said of the final play. "There were a couple of other options that they (Hawks) took away. They did a good job. It was a good screen from Al (Jefferson), a good cut from (Douglas-Roberts), and then Josh (McRoberts) is a very good inbounder. He made a great shot to win the game."

With the win, the Bobcats remain in the hunt for the Eastern Conference's No. 6 seed. Charlotte trails Washington by one game for the sixth spot as each team wraps up its respective season on Wednesday.

The Bobcats host the Chicago Bulls and the Wizards travel to Boston for a matchup with the Celtics.

Charlotte holds the tiebreaker over the Wizards because of their 3-1 record in the season series.

Al Jefferson scored 27 points with 15 rebounds for the Bobcats, who snapped an 11-game losing streak to Atlanta. Gary Neal and Luke Ridnour contributed 17 and 10 points, respectively, in the win.

Charlotte's Kemba Walker, who returned from a two-game absence with a groin injury, scored just five points with seven assists on 1-for-9 shooting.

Paul Millsap, Kyle Korver and DeMarre Carroll all sat out for the Hawks to rest for the upcoming playoffs.

Mike Scott paced Atlanta with 20 points, while Louis Williams and Shelvin Mack each netted 13 in the setback.

Jeff Teague, the reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Week, tallied 11 points with five assists for the Hawks, who had their three-game winning streak snapped.

Atlanta led 84-70 with 9 1/2 minutes left in the fourth when Charlotte clamped down on defense and got back into the game. Neal scored 10 points and Ridnour added eight during a 21-2 run that gave the Bobcats a 91-86 lead with 2:47 remaining.

Mack deposited five straight points to tie the game at 91-apiece.

Jefferson answered with a jumper from in close with a minute left, then Williams' jumper tied it with 2.6 seconds left before Douglas-Roberts' last- second heroics.

"Every time you go out there and compete you always feel like you can win," said Mack. "Especially the way we were playing early on. But we had some bad moments down the stretch that kind of led to them being able to get on a run and get going."

Earlier, the Bobcats led 26-24 at the end of the first, but the hosts took a 50-44 edge into halftime.

Atlanta stretched its halftime margin to 80-65 at the end of three quarters, and proceeded to shoot 4-of-16 in the final period en route to the loss.
