Recap: LA Lakers vs. Utah
Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Steve Blake buried all five of his 3-point tries and led seven Lakers in double-figures with 19 points, as Los Angeles earned a 111-106 victory over the Utah Jazz on Friday in the final preseason game for both teams at Honda Center.
Pau Gasol and Nick Young each netted 16 points, while Xavier Henry added 13 points off the bench for the Lakers, who finished the preseason 4-4 and will open the regular season on Oct. 29 at Staples Center against the team they share the court with, the Los Angeles Clippers.
Shawne Williams and Jordan Farmar each finished with 11 points while Jordan Hill chipped in 10 points in the victory.
Gordon Hayward and Alec Burks netted 18 points apiece to lead the Jazz, who wrapped up the preseason at 1-7 and will begin their regular-season slate on Oct. 30 at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Rudy Gobert registered 16 points and nine rebounds off the bench in defeat.
Utah held a slim 53-51 edge at the break, but the Lakers outscored the Jazz by 17 points in the third before holding off Utah down the stretch to secure the victory.Game Notes
