Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Minnesota Timberwolves forward Chase Budinger has cartilage damage to his left knee and will visit noted sports surgeon Dr. James Andrews next week.

Budinger re-signed with Minnesota in July after spending an injury-filled first season with the Timberwolves. He tore meniscus in his left knee early last season and underwent surgery in November, returning in March to play a total of 23 games.

The 25-year-old Arizona product averaged 9.4 points and 3.1 rebounds last season. He was acquired from Houston just prior to the 2012 NBA Draft and owns career averages of 9.4 points with 3.4 rebounds in 233 games for the Rockets and Timberwolves.
