Recap: Boston vs. Tampa Bay

Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Xander Bogaerts drove in three runs to lead the Boston Red Sox to an 11-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday.

Daniel Nava hit a two-run double and Garin Cecchini homered for Boston, which bounced back from a 6-2 loss in Tuesday's series opener.

Anthony Ranaudo (4-3) allowed just two runs on six hits and a walk with two strikeouts over seven innings to earn the win.

Wil Myers and Ben Zobrist each hit RBI doubles and Nick Franklin brought in a run for Tampa Bay, which had starter Jake Odorizzi (11-13) give up five runs on seven hits and three walks over three-plus frames

Boston pulled ahead with a five-run fourth. Odorizzi was replaced by Brandon Gomes after loading the bases with no outs. Bogaerts plated a pair of runs with a single off the wall in left, and Nava followed with a two-run double. Nava later came home on a wild pitch for a 7-2 score.

Rusney Castillo worked a bases-loaded walk off Kirby Yates in the sixth. Steve Geltz took over and struck out Bryce Brentz before walking Christian Vazquez to usher in another run. Cecchini and Castillo both came home on Jose Molina's passed ball to give the Red Sox an 11-2 lead.

Zobrist's RBI double in the ninth accounted for the final score.

The Rays pushed across two runs in the first. Zobrist led off with a single, Evan Longoria worked a one-out walk and Myers smacked a double off the wall in left-center field to bring in Zobrist. Longoria trotted home on Franklin's sacrifice fly to center.

Cecchini trimmed the deficit in half during the second with a blast into the right-field seats. Brentz and Vazquez both hit one-outs singles and Mookie Betts walked to load the bases before Bogaerts' sac fly to left tied the game.
