Recap: Los Angeles vs. San Francisco

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Pinch-hitter Andrew Susac's RBI single in the top of the 13th inning highlighted a three-run frame that gave the San Francisco Giants a 5-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday.

Brandon Belt singled with one out against Kevin Correia (2-4) and Brandon Crawford was walked intentionally following Juan Perez's groundout to put two on. Susac hit for Santiago Casilla (3-3) and ripped a single to left, easily scoring Belt. Gregor Blanco followed with a two-run double to right. He was tagged out in between second and third base, but the damage was done.

"I wanted to hit something hard so we could go home, I was tired," said Susac. "I saw a curveball up and got enough of it."

Hunter Strickland pitched a 1-2-3 inning to pick up his first career save in the bottom of the 13th. Four Giants relievers combined to toss six no-hit innings behind starter Jake Peavy.

Blanco led off the game with a solo home run and Joe Panik had three hits for San Francisco, which put the brakes on a three-game losing skid.

Peavy pitched seven innings for the Giants and gave up two runs on four hits with a walk and four strikeouts, while his counterpart Dan Haren allowed two runs -- one earned -- on one hit with seven strikeouts in seven innings for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers remain 3 1/2 games ahead of San Francisco for the NL West lead. The Giants and Pirates own identical records five games in front of Milwaukee for the two wild card spots.

"We just didn't do enough to win," said Dodgers manager Don Mattingly.

In the third, Blanco hit a fly ball to right-center that both Matt Kemp and Yasiel Puig were going for, but the ball hit off Kemp's glove and Blanco wound up at third. Panik then laid down a safety-squeeze bunt towards first to score Blanco to make it 2-0.

The Dodgers tied the game in the fifth. Carl Crawford led off the frame with his eighth home run of the year. Juan Uribe then doubled and moved to third on a single from A.J. Ellis. A sac bunt from Haren moved Ellis into scoring position, and Dee Gordon followed with a sac fly to tie the game. Puig popped out to end the inning.

San Francisco put men on first and third in the 10th with one out, but Pablo Sandoval hit into a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning.

The Giants blew another chance to score in the 11th. With men on first and second and one out, Brandon Crawford hit a single to center that Puig fielded. Belt rounded third and went hard into home, but Puig gunned the ball in and Ellis applied the tag to keep the game tied. Joaquin Arias struck out to end the inning.
