Recap: Baltimore vs. Boston

Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Adam Jones hit a pair of two-run home runs and the Baltimore Orioles grabbed a 7-2 win over the Boston Red Sox in the second of a three-game set.

Christian Walker added a solo home run with Nelson Cruz and Jonathan Schoop each driving in a run for the Orioles, who have won five of their last six games. Chris Tillman (13-5) gave up two runs on five hits with a pair of walks and six strikeouts in seven innings of work.

"We still have games to play and still have something to prove," said Jones. "We can still catch Anaheim for the best record overall and guys understand that."

David Ortiz hit a two-run home run for the Red Sox, who have lost four of their last five games. Rubby De La Rosa (4-8) pitched four innings and gave up four runs on six hits and two walks.

Boston struck in the first inning as Mookie Betts led off with a walk and Ortiz hit his third home run of the series and 35th on the season for a 2-0 lead.

"We didn't really do anything after that," said Boston manager John Farrell. "Tillman was really able to mix his pitches after that and we couldn't get anything going."

Baltimore tied the game in the third as Delmon Young singled with one out and Jones followed with his 26th home run of the season.

Walker led off the fourth with his first career home run to give the Orioles the lead. Ryan Flaherty followed with a double, moved to third on Nick Hundley's groundout and came home on a suicide squeeze bunt from Schoop.

Jones smacked his second two-run homer of the game in the fifth for a 6-2 advantage.

Baltimore added another run in the seventh on Cruz's RBI double to account for the final score.
