Recap: Colorado vs. Arizona

Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Wilin Rosario smacked a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Colorado Rockies to a 7-6 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday night at Coors Field.

The Rockies were down 6-1, but scored two runs in the sixth and eighth innings before Rosario capped off a 4-for-5 performance with his two-out, walk-off blast to deep left field off Addison Reed (1-7).

"I felt confidence in what I was doing with the bat," Rosario said. "I just tried to hit the ball hard and see what happened."

Michael Cuddyer belted a solo homer among his three hits and scored three runs for Colorado in the opener of a four-game series. LaTroy Hawkins (4-3), who is closing in on 1,000 career appearances, worked the top of the ninth.

Colorado rookie Yohan Flande, making his first start since Aug. 17, gave up two runs on two hits over five innings.

Tommy Kahnle succeeded Flande to begin the sixth and didn't retire any of the four batters he faced. All four men scored as Arizona broke open a 2-1 game.

Aaron Hill drew a bases-loaded walk before Matt Belisle gave up a Cody Ross sacrifice fly and a two-run single by Jordan Pacheco.

Brandon Barnes doubled home Cuddyer and scored on a Charlie Culberson single in the home half of the frame.

Cuddyer ripped a double to begin the eighth and came around on Rosario's single. After Barnes grounded into a double play, Culberson singled and scored on a DJ LeMahieu double.

Reed got consecutive flyouts after pinch-hitter Corey Dickerson led off the ninth with a single. Rosario then jumped on a first-pitch slider.

"Give them credit. They came back and beat us," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said.

Cuddyer homered off Arizona starter Vidal Nuno to lead off the second, but a two-run single by Ender Inciarte gave the D-backs the lead in the third.

Nuno allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out seven in 5 1/3 innings.
