Recap: Toronto vs. Tampa Bay

Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Evan Longoria drove in the game-winning run as the Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 2-1, in 10 innings on Sunday.

Ben Zobrist walked to begin the 10th inning off Sergio Santos (0-3), then Logan Forsythe lifted a fly ball down the right-field line, where Nolan Reimold, who replaced Jose Bautista in the seventh, drifted over to the line and appeared to lose the ball in the sun. Reimold couldn't come up with the ball and it bounced over the wall for a ground-rule double.

Longoria proceeded to lace a single through the left side that plated Zobrist, but Melky Cabrera made a strong throw home to get Forsythe at the plate.

Jake McGee (4-1) grabbed the win for pitching two innings of relief and Brad Boxberger worked out of a first and third jam with no outs in the 10th to nail down his second save of the season.

Juan Francisco reached on an infield single to second and an error on first baseman James Loney allowed him to advance on the play to open the 10th. Munenori Kawasaki followed with a bunt single to put runners at the corners. Following a visit from manager Joe Maddon, Boxberger got Jose Reyes and Cabrera to pop out, then struck out Reimold to end the game.

Earlier, Zobrist doubled with one out in the first, moved to third on a wild pitch as Matt Joyce walked and scored on Longoria's RBI groundout.

Both starting pitchers were dealing from there until Tampa's Chris Archer yielded a run in the seventh. Dioner Navarro singled with one out and moved to third on Colby Rasmus' base hit. Francisco followed with a sacrifice fly to right that knotted the game at 1-1. Kawasaki then walked, but Reyes struck out to end the threat.

Archer allowed one run on six hits and struck out six over seven innings in the no-decision. Drew Hutchison opposed Archer for Toronto and gave up one run on six hits and struck out seven over six innings.

"If you're facing this Blue Jays lineup and you only give up one run, it's something to be happy about," Archer said. "I'm walking away happy and confident."

Tampa Bay put runners on second and third with one out in the ninth off Casey Janssen. Brett Cecil came in to get out of the jam and he did so by striking out pinch-hitter Brandon Guyer and Desmond Jennings to keep the game tied.
