Recap: Texas vs. LA Angels

Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Adam Rosales' game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the ninth gave the Texas Rangers a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in a finale of this three-game series.

Trailing 2-1 heading into the home ninth, Alex Rios singled off Huston Street (0-1) and Adrian Beltre hit a grounder to left for a base hit of his own. Mike Carp then lined one softly into right-center field to score Rios and tie the game. With runners on the corners, Rosales smacked a fly ball over Collin Cowgill's head in left field that dropped just shy of the warning track, plating Beltre.

Neftali Feliz (1-1) pitched a perfect top of the ninth to pick up the win as Texas snapped a five-game losing streak.

Starter Nick Tepesch tossed seven innings of two-run ball and the Rangers' relievers held the Angels scoreless for the rest of the game, despite having the bases loaded in the eighth.

"It all started with the pitching," said Rangers manager Ron Washington. "It all started with Tepesch. He was executing pitches all day and he kept us in the ball game. He gave us a chance."

Los Angeles starter Hector Santiago struck out five and allowed only one run and four hits over six innings, but did not factor in the decision.

The Angels had their four-game winning streak ended and lost to the Rangers for the first time in the last 10 meetings.

Four consecutive singles to start the second helped the Angels pick up two runs in the frame. Erick Aybar grounded one slowly to second, but beat the throw, and moved to third on a fly ball by David Freese. Efren Navarro hit a line drive into right to push Aybar across. Cowgill loaded the bases with an infield single and, after Hank Conger popped out, Kole Calhoun scored Freese with a ground out.

The Angels opened the fourth with runners on first and third, but failed to take advantage. Navarro walked and Cowgill singled to start the frame, but Conger popped out again and Calhoun grounded into an inning-ending double play.

The Rangers picked up a run in the home fifth. Rosales singled, then stole second before Geovany Soto struck out. Rougned Odor followed with a line drive to right field that plated Rosales.

Shawn Tolleson took over on the mound after Tepesch walked Mike Trout to begin the eighth. Albert Pujols hit a line drive off the wall in left for a double, moving Trout to third. After Tolleson intentionally walked Howie Kendrick to load the bases, the righty fanned Aybar and Freese. Neal Cotts finished the job on the mound, striking out Navarro to end the inning.
