Recap: Baltimore vs. Tampa Bay

Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Nick Hundley's sixth-inning home run was the difference, as the Baltimore Orioles avenged a loss from earlier in the day with a 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday night in Game 2 of a doubleheader at Camden Yards.

Hundley broke a 1-1 tie with his no-doubter down the left field line off Juan Carlos Oviedo (3-3), who took the mound after Jake Odorizzi labored through five innings. Odorizzi limited Baltimore to a run with six strikeouts, but allowed six hits and four walks, departing after throwing 106 pitches.

"It was just an all-around bad experience out there," Odorizzi said. "I just couldn't get comfortable, couldn't find my spot."

Adam Jones went 4-for-4, doubling twice and scoring a run. Nelson Cruz added a two-run homer to pad the cushion in the seventh inning.

Chris Tillman (7-4) worked eight strong innings for Baltimore, allowing just a run on four hits to earn his second consecutive win.

"He's carrying more pitches," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "It's not always velocity, it's just crispness, finishing in the zone, a little more of that."

James Loney opened the scoring in the second inning, launching a home run to right to give the visiting Rays an early edge. Baltimore responded in the home half, however, as J.J. Hardy singled, moved to second on David Lough's infield single and scored on Hundley's bloop base hit to left.

Baltimore threatened to jump in front in the bottom of the fifth inning. Manny Machado led off with a walk, Jones singled and Chris Davis reached on balls with one away. Odorizzi got out of trouble, getting Hardy to foul out and striking out Lough.

But the O's did break through one inning later. when Hundley blasted the second pitch Oviedo threw deep into the left field bleachers. Joel Peralta didn't fare much better in the seventh, serving up a leadoff double to Jones before Cruz took a 2-1 offering over the wall in right.

Zach Britton pitched around a one-out single to nail down his 10th save of the season.
