Recap: Baltimore vs. Oakland

Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - David Lough's two-run homer helped the Baltimore Orioles to a 6-3 victory over the Oakland Athletics in the second installment of a three-game set.

Adam Jones homered and had two RBI while Caleb Joseph and Nick Markakis each drove in a run for Baltimore, which has won five of its last seven.

Starter Kevin Gausman (1-1), who was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk prior to the game, tossed seven solid innings, surrendering just one run on four hits with a walk and six strikeouts for the win.

"Kevin was good, really good," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "He got in a couple situations and went to another level, which was good to see."

Coco Crisp homered and Kyle Blanks brought around two with an eighth-inning single for the A's, who entered the game with wins in six of their last seven.

Sonny Gray (6-2) was tagged with the loss after giving up five runs on four hits and four walks while fanning seven.

"You're not going to be perfect throughout the course of the season," A's manager Bob Melvin said, referring to the rare rough outing from Gray. "I think we hold him to such a high standard that we expect him to go out there and throw a shutout almost every time."

In the first, Jones drove a 3-1 fastball over the wall in right-center field to give the O's an early lead.

Oakland evened the game in the third on Crisp's solo shot to right.

Lough took a one-out walk in the fifth and raced home on Joseph's fly ball that landed just past the glove of Brandon Moss in right for a double. Markakis and Jones each supplied RBI singles to give Baltimore a 4-1 lead.

Gray's outing ended after giving up a one-out walk to J.J. Hardy in the sixth. Former Oriole Jim Johnson was greeted with a two-run shot by Lough to right.

The A's tacked on two runs in the eighth. Eric Sogard walked and Crisp doubled off Brian Matusz. Darren O'Day entered the game and allowed the two to come home on Blanks' base hit up the middle.

O'Day tossed a scoreless ninth to ensure the win.
