Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Miami Marlins infielder Ed Lucas is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair a broken left hand on Wednesday.

Recovery is expected to take between 5-to-7 weeks.

Lucas suffered a non-displaced fracture in his left hand during last Thursday's spring training game against the Cardinals and has been out of commission since. He sustained the injury in the top of the eighth inning when he was plunked by St. Louis right-hander Scott McGregor.

The 31-year-old made his major league debut with the Marlins in 2013 and batted .256 with four home runs and 28 RBI in 94 games.
