Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford exited Tuesday's game against the Cincinnati Reds in the eighth inning after sustaining a left ankle sprain.

Crawford injured the ankle while chasing down Chris Heisey's two-out double into the left-field corner. The Los Angeles outfielder appeared to slip on the grass just before the warning track and rolled his left ankle.

Crawford limped to the ball and fired it into the infield before calling for the trainer, who helped him hobble to the dugout.

"My leg just slipped and it swelled up real quick," Crawford said following the Dodgers' 6-3 win. "They're going to put me on the disabled list. I think it's going to take a while."

Crawford finished the game 1-for-3 with two runs scored. The 32-year-old entered the game batting .265 with four home runs, 18 RBI and nine steals in 43 games this season.
