Glendale, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms with pitcher Jose Quintana on a five-year contract, which includes two club options through 2020.

The contract contains two possibilities, based on whether Quintana is arbitration eligible after the 2014 season. If he is, the contract is worth $26.5 million. If not, it is worth $21 million.

Quintana went 9-7 with a 3.51 ERA, 164 strikeouts and a major-league leading 17 no-decisions over 33 starts in 2013, his second season with the White Sox.

The left-hander originally signed with the White Sox on Nov. 21, 2011. He went 6-6 with a 3.76 ERA in 25 games (22 starts) in 2012.

"Jose quickly has established himself as a quality major-league starting pitcher, and along with Chris Sale, we expect him to be an important piece of our rotation for the foreseeable future," said Rick Hahn, White Sox senior vice president/general manager. "Jose brings a tremendous work ethic and professionalism to his approach, and he is well respected by his teammates, so we are excited to be able to reward him for what he has accomplished thus far in his career and possibly keep him in a White Sox uniform for the next seven seasons."

If the White Sox decline his first option, Quintana will be eligible for free agency following the 2018 season.
