Pettersen narrows gap in women's world rankings

Philadelphia, PA ( - Suzann Pettersen successfully defended her title in Taiwan and that helped her narrow the gap at the top of this week's women's world rankings.

Pettersen, who won for the fourth time this year on the LPGA Tour, inched within 0.59 average points of No. 1 Inbee Park. Stacy Lewis remained No. 3 behind those two.

So Yeon Ryu and Lydia Ko swapped places again this week with Ryu inching up to fourth and Ko, the newly minted professional, dipping to fifth.

Na Yeon Choi remained in sixth and was again followed by Shanshan Feng and Karrie Webb. I.K. Kim moved up one to ninth and that pushed Catriona Matthew down to No. 10.

Paula Creamer held steady in 11th and was trailed again by Cristie Kerr, Jiyai Shin, Lexi Thompson, Ai Miyazato and Angela Stanford.

Amy Yang and Hee Young Park exchanged places with Yang inching up to 17, which bumped Park down to 18. Lizette Salas and Mika Miyazato rounded out the top 20 again this week.

Lee-Anne Pace won the Ladies European Tour event in China and that helped her jump 11 places to No. 49 this week.
