Recap: Tennessee vs. Kentucky

Knoxville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Joshua Dobbs threw for 297 yards and three touchdowns as the Tennessee Volunteers ran away with a 50-16 victory over the Kentucky Wildcats in SEC action at Neyland Stadium.

Dobbs completed 19-of-27 pass attempts and also rushed for 48 yards and a score for Tennessee (5-5, 2-4 SEC), which has won back-to-back games. Jalen Hurd rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown and Jason Croom finished with 87 yards and a score on three receptions.

Patrick Towles completed only 13-of-25 pass attempts for 168 yards and was intercepted once for Kentucky (5-6, 2-6), which has lost five straight. Towles also led the Wildcats with 29 yards rushing. Javess Blue caught six passes for 131 yards.

Kentucky scored first on a 32-yard field goal from Austin MacGinnis.

The lead didn't last long as the Volunteers scored 30 unanswered points. The scoring binge started with a 21-yard touchdown pass from Dobbs to Von Pearson. Then, Brian Randolph returned an interception 23 yards for a touchdown.

Early in the second quarter, Pearson and Dobbs hooked up for a score again, this time from 16 yards out, which was followed by a 38-yard field goal from Aaron Medley and a nine-yard touchdown run from Dobbs.

A two-yard touchdown run from Towles ended the scoring burst for the Volunteers, but just over a minute later, Medley connected on a 21-yard field goal.

MacGinnis kicked a 54-yard field goal as time expired in the first half.

On the first play of the second half, Dobbs threw a 52-yard touchdown pass to Croom.

MacGinnis connected on a 30-yard field goal just over three minutes later.

Medley answered with a 39-yard field goal and Hurd finished off the scoring with a four-yard touchdown run at the end of the third quarter.

Tennessee finished with 511 total yards, while limiting Kentucky to 262.
