Recap: Missouri vs. Kentucky
Columbia, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Maty Mauk threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns, helping the Missouri Tigers take care of the Kentucky Wildcats, 20-10, in an SEC clash at Faurot Field.
Mauk, who ran for a game-high 75 yards on 14 carries, completed 18-of-33 pass attempts for the Tigers (7-2, 4-1 SEC), who have won three straight games. Bud Sasser caught six passes, including the two touchdowns, for a total of 67 yards.
Patrick Towles threw for 158 yards and a touchdown on 19-of-37 passing but was intercepted once for the Wildcats (5-4, 2-4), who have dropped three straight.
Following a scoreless first quarter, Sasser grabbed a three-yard pass from Mauk to make it 7-0 Tigers.
Kentucky got on the board just a few minutes later, with Austin MacGinnis converting a 47-yard field goal.
About four minutes later, however, Sasser caught a 26-yard pass for another touchdown, giving the hosts a 14-3 advantage at the break.
With just under four minutes left in the third quarter, Andrew Baggett converted a 41-yard field goal to extend the Tigers' lead to 17-3. Midway through the final quarter, Baggett hit another field goal, this one a 21- yard effort.
With 3:26 left, Towles found Javess Blue on a one-yard touchdown pass, but it was too little, too late for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats were just 2-of-16 on third-down conversions, stifling their offensive potential.Game Notes
