Recap: LSU vs. Kentucky
Baton Rouge, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Terrence Magee tallied 220 all-purpose yards and scored a pair of rushing touchdowns, as the LSU Tigers made easy work of the Kentucky Wildcats, 41-3, in an SEC showdown at Tiger Stadium.
Magee ran for 127 yards on just nine carries and added three receptions for 44 yards for LSU (6-2, 2-2 SEC), winners of two straight. Anthony Jennings completed 7-of-14 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown while adding 40 yards on the ground.
For Kentucky (5-2, 2-2), Patrick Towles was 19-of-36 passing for 146 yards. Demarco Robinson caught three passes for a game-high 52 yards.
After a long kickoff return by Magee and a personal foul penalty, LSU's opening drive began on Kentucky's 29-yard line. The Tigers cashed in six plays later with a 1-yard touchdown run by Leonard Fournette.
Colby Delahoussaye knocked through a 21-yard field goal at the 7:30 mark of the first quarter. Less than two minutes later Tre'Davious White returned a punt 67 yards for a touchdown to give the home team a 17-0 lead.
Kentucky got on the board at the end of the opening frame with a 33-yard field goal off the foot of Austin MacGinnis, which proved to be its only points of the game.
LSU struck with under a minute to play in the half on a 32-yard hookup from Jennings to Travin Dural. The Tigers recovered an on-side kick and cashed in with a 35-yard field goal by Delahoussaye in the waning seconds to go into halftime with a comfortable 27-3 lead.
The Tigers padded their advantage early in the third quarter on a 9-yard touchdown run by Magee.
Magee's big night continued later in the third, as he ran in a touchdown from 23 yards away to close out the scoring.
