Tallahassee, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - A DNA analysis has confirmed that the DNA sample star Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston provided to law enforcement matched the DNA found in the underwear of the accuser in Winston's sexual assault investigation, according to a report by ESPN late Wednesday.
The DNA finding doesn't prove that Winston's guilty, but it indicates that Winston and the accuser were in contact with each other on the night of the alleged incident.
According to multiple media outlets, including the Miami Herald, Winston is accused of using physical force to assault an individual older than the age of 18 on Dec. 7, 2012.
The police report from that night states the alleged perpetrator was between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-11. Winston is listed at 6-foot-4.
Winston, a freshman, has thrown for 2,938 yards, 28 touchdowns and seven interceptions for the second-ranked Seminoles, who will put their 10-0 mark on the line Saturday when they host Idaho.
