A small child hit by a truck last night in the Rolling Hills Estates Mobile Home Park is listed in critical condition as of Thursday. D'Iberville Police say the little girl, not even three years old, was out riding her tricycle about 8 p.m. last night when she was backed over by a truck. She was taken to U.S.A. Medical Center for treatment. No arrests have been made.

The driver of the truck, Vinson Murray, spoke to News25 Wednesday night and says he never saw the child, and is still shaken by the accident. Murray says, "Well, I was just turning my truck around to back up, next thing I know I heard a little scraping noise and find out there was a little girl under the back end of my truck. I ran her over… It scared me to death. I just panicked, so I moved the truck up a little bit so that I could get her. I don't know what happened after that... I just went blank."

D'Iberville Police stated that it is still an open investigation and that they will continue to pursue all leads.
