The White House Hotel in Biloxi went from a crown jewel to a dilapidated eyesore. Now, construction is underway to bring the hotel back to its original glory. The hotel will feature a variety of bedrooms for individuals, couples, and groups. There will also be an upscale steak restaurant and rooftop bar to complement the building. Contractors are trying to bring the building back to the original 1920s look as much as possible. The outside of the hotel will be the largest original piece of the hotel. Bill Yockui, the Manager of Coras Restaurant, says, “The location is already registered historic and we're getting ourselves listed as a historic hotel.” They hope the hotel will be used for weddings and destination vacations. It is the only upscale hotel and restaurant in the area that is not associated with a casino.
