We will start and end the weekend with rain showers and warm temperatures
Today: Rain showers began early this morning and will continue throughout the day as a light and scattered pattern. Mostly cloudy with rather light wind speeds from the east. This afternoon should have more clouds and fewer showers with a warmer afternoon high temperature near 73º. Today will begin the first of several days (through Monday) that we should be feeling these warmer 70 degree temperatures.
Tonight: The clouds will continue to present themselves for a mostly cloudy outlook, but the rain showers should have already moved off. Warmer evening/overnight temperatures will likely make for an enjoyable evening out and about.
Saturday: Don't worry about the Saturday morning cloud coverage because the noon and afternoon hours should be better with a little more sunshine and the continuation of warmer temperatures( high near 78º). I will be out and about looking for holiday decorations in my garage! Any rain chances for Saturday look minimal and should hold off until Sunday.
Sunday: Clouds and warm morning lows will continue for this day, however our rain chances increase greatly. The potential will also exist for heavier and low level severe showers and thunderstorms later. Daytime high will still be in the mid/upper 70's (77º). On this day an approaching low pressure system and associated cold front will already have begun it's eastward progression from the Rocky Mountains. Ahead of this front rain will develop across the Coastal counties with stronger storms to the north (Hattiesburg). The cold front should pass through late Sunday/Monday and with that passage the rain showers should begin decreasing late Monday afternoon.
Next week: Wind speeds do look to be on the increase behind the front for Tuesday and cooler temperatures look to make a brief return for the middle of next week.
